Just Giving BannerDisability North is a free Independent Living Service which promotes social inclusion, independence and choice for disabled and older people in the North East of England and Cumbria. Disability North is a user led registered charity which works with, and for, disabled people, empowering them to maximise the control they have over their own lives. 

Our Service Team can provide information and advice on equipment and activities for daily living (ADL), benefits and Direct Payments as well as advising on many other aspects of disability and signposting to other organisations who can help.

Our Mission: Disability North promotes inclusion, independence and choice for disabled people in the region.

Our Vision: To be the best resource on disability in the North.

“Matt Hampson’s Top 5 Equipment Essentials for Travelling”.

Matt is a very busy man working tirelessly for his foundation that supports others dealing with catastrophic injuries acquired through sport. This means he is often travelling in his specially adapted vehicle to various venues in the UK and throughout Europe. When Matt is travelling he carries a selection of disability equipment to ensure he can manage his daily routine safely and comfortably.

Office Space to Rent at Disability North

Disability North is home to several organizations supporting disabled people in the region and we currently have office space to rent. Benefits of being a tenant at Disability North includes; car parking, reception service, cleaning service, wi-fi access, and meeting spaces. Great North Run 2017

Over-indulged over Christmas? Looking for some motivation to kick-start that New Year's resolution?

Run for Disability North in The Great North Run 2017 on Sunday September 10th. Join 54,000 runners as they run from Newcastle to South Shields, through countryside and coast, in support of Disability North. Each year, Disability North helps over 6,000 disabled people, older adults and their families to achieve inclusion and independence through the provision of information, advice and support.  Please click here for further information.

Disability North Golf Day 2017

Friday 19th May, Hexham Golf Course

Spoil a good walk for a great cause and tee-off for Disability North at our annual Golf Day on Friday May 19th at Hexham Golf Course.
