A SPECIALIST college for young adults with learning difficulties has had a brand re-launch. Real Choice College, in Consett, was formed 10 years ago, to provide care for children with complex needs after they left special schools. Later, the college was developed further to include educational courses.
The college, which is now known as ‘Learning for Life’, had its official rebranding on December 7, 2016. It now supports 43 young adults, five days a week, 51 weeks a year. It receives financial support from the Education Funding Agency and local authorities, but needs more money to safeguard and expand its services.
Ms Matthewson is appealing for people who can develop their creative arts, as well as offer business sponsorship or raffle prizes.
She said: “There are many ways people can help. The joy you get from working alongside our young people is truly amazing.”
