Matt is a very busy man working tirelessly for his foundation that supports others dealing with catastrophic injuries acquired through sport. This means he is often travelling in his specially adapted vehicle to various venues in the UK and throughout Europe. When Matt is travelling he carries a selection of disability equipment to ensure he can manage his daily routine safely and comfortably.

Great North Run 2017
Over-indulged over Christmas? Looking for some motivation to kick-start that New Year's resolution?
Run for Disability North in The Great North Run on Sunday September 10th 2017. Join 54,000 runners as they run through city, country and coast in the country's largest half-marathon.
You will be helping to ensure that Disability North can continue to provide support to over 6,000 local disabled people, older adults and their families by providing information, advice and support on any aspect of disability.

Disability North Golf Day 2017
Spoil a good walk for a great cause and tee-off for Disability North at our annual Golf Day on Friday May 19th at Hexham Golf Course. The International Day of Disabled People 2016
On Saturday 3 December, Disability North held an event in honour of the United Nation’s International Day of Disabled People. Hosted at the Gateshead Leisure Centre, the gathering was a celebration of the services, facilities and projects in the region that promote inclusion and access for disabled people. The theme of this year’s International Day event was sport with the aim of to promoting diversity and inclusion in sport and the many health benefits of an active lifestyle. The event hosted an array of speakers and participatory activities, including presentations by Gateshead Special Olympics, Boccia trial sessions, Zumba and more. Please click here for photographs.
DNEX 2016/ Moving & Handling People North
DNEX 2016 was held in partnership with Moving & Handling People North: The 2-day CPD-accredited event for healthcare professionals at Newcastle Racecourse on September 21st and 22nd. It was opened by Metro Radio DJ Alan Robson.

Disability North Annual Dinner 2016
Disability North celebrated another year of empowerment for disabled people across the region at our Annual Dinner on the evening of September 21st at Newcastle Racecourse. Guests enjoyed a stunning musical performance at our drinks reception from The Glass Orchestra segment of The Lawnmower's Independent Theatre Company for learning disabled adults, before a 3-course meal.
The meal was followed by a topical speech from Jane Hartley, Chief Executive of The Voluntary Organisation's Network North East, as well as a captivating documentary by Ruth Abrahams MBE, trustee of Disability North, describing her life as a disabled person. The evening closed with a raffle.
Thank you to all of our guests, performers and speakers who made The Disability North Annual Dinner a fantastic, entertaining evening.
