If the answer is YES, then you may be interested to find out more about the Personal Assistant
vacancies we advertise for disabled people in Newcastle who receive Direct Payments.

Personal Assistant duties may include assisting with personal care, assistance with social and
educational opportunities and accessing community facilities.  Hours and wage rates vary depending

on the individual needs of the employer, available hours or job description.  A driving licence or previous

experience is not essential unless otherwise stated.

Applications from people with experience of working with disabled adults and children or
experience as a carer are particularly welcome.

He has a variety of interests such as going to the cinema, walking, cycling, using Ebay, collecting figures, making models and playing video games.

This job would particularly suit someone with similar interests. You will also need to have some knowledge and experience of working with people with mental health needs and anxiety.

Female Personal Assistant (JFR/DP/002/17)

Disabled lady in the New York area of North Tyneside is looking to recruit a Female Personal Assistant to assist with all household tasks that due to her health she is unable to do herself. This involves everything from cooking and cleaning to assistance to get shopping, do laundry and keep the house in a good general condition.


A significant part of the role is meal preparation (except breakfast) so applicants will need to be available at suitable times to do this. The main bulk of the job is not to deliver personal care, but this may be necessary on occasion and as a result the position is only open to female applicants.


Flexibility around working hours and a friendly caring personality are more important than qualifications. Applications from people of all ages will be considered. A full driving licence, valid for use in the UK, is desirable.

A Personal Assistant is required by my 28 year old son who has ASD, a learning disability and diabetes. Lead enabler to work with teenager with severe learning disabilities and complex health needs

We are looking to appoint a lead enabler to work with our 16 year old daughter and to lead a team of Personal Assistants. 

The shifts will include mornings, after schools, weekends and over-nights and will involve direct care as well as managing the team.  Longer hours may be needed in school holidays.  Up to 24 hours a week but prepared to be flexible for the right person.

Our daughter has severe learning disability, physical disability and complex health needs.  She is good fun, very friendly and loves going out.  She needs support with personal care, mobility and accessing a variety of activities, although you would be ex-pected to enable and encourage her to learn skills and develop as much independence as possible.

You need to be enthusiastic, physically fit, caring, good at communicating and managing others, well organised and enjoy working in a varied and dynamic environment. 

You need to be skilled at meeting care needs and monitoring health issues as well ensuring other carers achieve similarly high standards.

You would also need to be ambitious on behalf of our daughter to enable her to participate fully and enjoy life to the full.

It is essential you are a car driver.

Personal Assistants (Dunston, Gateshead)

Skilled carers required to work term time before and after school.  An immediate start until the end of June.

Two carers will be supporting a young 13 year old boy who has complex needs, is autistic and profoundly deaf.

At least one of the carers needs to have some signing and the willingness to improve and develop signing with support from the employer.

There will be a two hour morning shift (7am until 9am) and a two hour after school shift (3.45 until 5.45pm).

Duties are mainly home based: supporting meal times, personal care and engaging in sensory and fun play.

£10 per hour and a full DBS check will be taken.
