Disability North Service Team

Service team logoWhether a disability is from a lifelong impairment, an accident, illness or advancing age, people are usually poorly informed about disability benefits, welfare rights and the availability and suitability of assistive technology. (Assistive technology is not just computers or communication aids, it is the term used to describe any piece of equipment that can help you to be independent such as a walking stick, raised toilet seat or environment controls, etc. Centres providing these services may be referred to as Independent Living Centres, Disabled Living Centres or Assistive Technology Centres.)

Information, advice and support for disabled people

The Disability North Service Team is a friendly experienced team which offers you a demand led, person centred approach considering all of your individual needs and we aim to provide you with the solutions to address them.

We give free, confidential and independent information on a wide range of disability issues to disabled and older people and anyone with an interest in disability.

The Service Team is based in the accessible offices at the Dene Centre, which is located on Castle Farm Road, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne.
