Job Title: Personal Assistant
Hours: 3.5 hours per week, or 7 hours a fortnight
Location: Kenton, Newcastle upon Tyne
Rate of Pay: £14.00 per hour.
My name is Maddison, and I am looking for a kind and caring support worker, I love to go the beach, parks, and soft play. I enjoy playing with my dolls and having a good laugh and a joke. My personal assistant will need to build a trusting relationship with me and take me out to new and fun places. You would support me in my home and at activities outside the home.
A car driver is essential for this role, you would be able to drive my mobility car – you would need to be over 25 for insurance purpose.
Experience of working with Children and knowledge of ASD and Cerebral Palsy is desirable, however for the right applicant we would be able to support with training.
Main Duties
As my and my family’s needs will vary it is important that the Personal Assistant is flexible about what the work involves and agrees to undertake any reasonable Personal Assistance tasks.
Social Assistance
Supporting with fun and stimulating activities inside and outside of the home.
Spending time to get to know me to build a strong trusting relationship.

To be my personal assistant you should:
- Have a positive attitude towards disability.
- Be willing to work under direction.
- Be able to work flexibly to meet my needs.
- Be reliable and trustworthy.
- Be a good timekeeper.
- Be able to work at short notice.
- Be able to work in different settings.
- Not discuss our household and domestic circumstances with others, other than with my specific permission.
- Keep information gained in the course of your employment confidential.
- Be able to respond appropriately in an emergency.
- Be able to accept responsibility and work on your own initiative.
- Respect my privacy and that of my family and friends.
- Be patient when doing repeated tasks.
- Have at least basic reading, writing and number skills.
- You do not need any formal qualifications, but you must be willing to learn how to do the job under my direction.
