Job Role:  Experienced Paediatric Nurses

Hours:  Full and part time hours available 8pm – 8am.

Hourly Rate:  £31.00 per hour

Location:  Gateshead

 

Urgent support required. A unique opportunity has arisen for registered Paediatric/Adult Nurses to work into a package of support for a young boy.

We are looking for confident and competent experienced Registered Paediatric/Adult Nurses who can work in a community setting with a background in Critical Care/ICU. Experience of working with complex clinical care, Community care would be an advantage.

The support is funded via a Personal Health Budget, and you will provide nursing care and support within a busy family home and in the community.

Zac has a rare cardiac condition and needs round the clock care and support. There must be a nurse on shift all the time and you will be supported by a health care assistant.

You will provide one on one care and support as well as working as part of a wider team. Your support will really make a difference and enable Zac’s independence. You can find out more about this gorgeous young boy in the job description.

 

Essential Requirements:

Experience:

A minimum of 1 years’ experience and ability to work with and practice the following:

  • Tracheostomy care
  • Ventilation care
  • Enteral tube feeding
  • Oral suction / trache suction
  • Medication Administration and Pain Management
  • Suction Machine
  • Nebuliser
  • Saturation monitoring

You will need to;

  • Be a Registered Nurse with full awareness and understanding of NMC code of professional conduct
  • Have a Valid PIN / DBS

Urgent support required. We are looking for Health care workers to support a young boy called Zac. Zac has a rare cardiac condition and requires 24/7 care and support. You will be always supported by a experienced support worker. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop as a health care worker. You will also be providing this gorgeous family with much needed support within the home. It really will make a difference to them.

About Zac

My name is Zac, I am 8 years old and my Mam is looking for some excellent people to help look after me.  She can then sleep as well as do all the other things that Mam’s need to do. I have 4 siblings and our house is a very busy and fun house. It is essential you have a sense of humour.

Due to my medical needs, I need a lot of support both during the day and during the night.  There are a number of responsibilities that you will have when supporting me.  My care and emergency plan will go into more detail about my needs and full training will be given.

You will work under my mam’s direction to meet my needs and will be accountable to her in all aspects of your work.

I like to be active, I enjoy playing with my toys, music, singing, watching cartoons but must of all I love being outside, you will need to think of lots of activities to keep me interested and help my development.

Preferable:

Have a recognised, accredited care qualification with children, experience of tracheostomy care, training can be given to the right person.

An enhanced DBS will be required for this role paid for by the employer.

  • Activity Breaks at Calvert Trust Keswick: Dive into adventure! We will head to Calvert Trust Keswick for activity breaks, enjoying activities like rock climbing, canoeing, archery, and hydrotherapy. Typically, one to two times a year where my personal budget allows.
  • Hydrotherapy Sessions: Participate in hydrotherapy sessions to help improve physical well-being and relaxation through water-based exercises. As and when I have the ability to book.
  • Day to day personal care

 

Ideal Candidates:

My dream team members would hold or can obtain A satisfactory DBS enhanced check and would have at least one of the following interests or qualities:

  • Have an interest in computer programming, gaming, or digital making.
  • Love the vibe of music festivals and other live events.
  • Be ready and able to participate in, support with and enjoy activities offered at Calvert Trust in Keswick
  • Ability to support with moving and handling and personal care.
  • Ability to support with swimming/hydrotherapy.
