Companion/Personal Assistant required in North Shields area.

I’m looking for someone (female) to befriend my 78-year-old mam who has Alzheimer’s, to spend 3 or 4 afternoons per week with her in my home (2.00 -4.30pm) to allow me to stay at work until later in the day.  The role involves having a cuppa with her and playing some games or completing a jigsaw or doing craft and reminiscence activities to keep her stimulated. You will need to assist her to the toilet too. She is a lovely lady, but not great at starting conversations now so needs someone who is friendly and confident to start and keep a conversation going. This is such a lovely role for a kind, patient person who enjoys spending time with older people.

You will need to sign a contract of employment and must be DBS checked and ideally have access to a car to take her out for a cuppa or ice cream some days.

There is scope to pick up more hours potentially on an evening or weekend to provide respite for the family.
