Female Personal Assistants – CHBND

Hours: 17 hours per week with opportunity for overtime, ideally looking for Wed 16.00-20.00 and Fri 20.00-09.00.

Also seeking a flexible bank worker

Rate: £14.50 per hour for weekdays and £15.50 per hour for weekends

Location: Wylam, Northumberland NE41, a 20-minute drive from Newcastle with good rail/bus links.

We’re looking for a caring, compassionate and committed Personal Assistant (female) It’s an amazing opportunity to join our small and friendly team for a 24-year-old lady with severe learning disability and additional health needs.  We work flexibly and can accommodate shifts to suit a good work-life balance

 

About Me

I am a delightful young lady who likes to go swimming, going on trips, out for walks, loves music, dancing, looking at books and jigsaws. Every Saturday I go to a gym for people with additional needs and a club for young adults with additional needs called WeCan. I communicate non-verbally using gestures, facial expressions, a VOCA (Voice Output Communication Aid), and symbols. Due to my physical disabilities, I require full support with personal care, feeding and mobility.

I attend college Mondays, Thursdays and Friday and an activity centre with care staff on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I have 24/7 care with dedicated day shift staff who assist to have the best time with my different clubs and activities, and overnight care staff who enable me to have the best night’s sleep by providing proactive support at all times.

 

Knowledge and Qualifications

Experience of working with people with additional communication needs is preferred but not essential

You should be trained to NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or have equivalent experience)

You must be physically fit and active

Motivated and have a positive can-do attitude

Strong communication skills

Caring, trustworthy & respectful

Possess a genuine commitment to the role

Great at working as part of a team and also working on your own initiative

UK driving licence is essential to use Motability car
