Location: Byker, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Hours of work: 6 hours per week, and respite as and when. Friday 10:00-13:00, additional 3 hours to be used flexibly.

Job Purpose:
Hello, I’m Louise. I live with my wife and our cat, Roy Rogers, so a love for cats is essential! We’re looking for a kind-hearted, open-minded Personal Assistant who understands chronic illness, autism and mental health issues and is eager to learn and adapt. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys good conversation, and shares a few of my interests. My day-to-day needs vary as I have
numerous conditions which restrict my mobility and energy levels and support can range from practical assistance to simply sharing a cuppa and a chat.
Responsibilities:
• Physical Assistance & General Support – Help with daily tasks, errands, and any required physical support.
• Meal Preparation & Housekeeping – Assist with cooking, cleaning, and general household upkeep.
• Shared Interests and Connection – I enjoy knitting, crafting, reading, watching TV, music of all kinds, video games and table-top games. Ideally, you share some of these interests or are open to learning about them.
Qualities we Value:
• Animal Lover – Roy Rogers is family, so you must enjoy spending time with cats and we would love to have a whole menagerie of different pets one day so an appreciation for all different types of
critters is best.
• Open Mind toward Neurodivergence and LGBTQ+ – A willingness to understand neurodiversity and support an LGBTQ+ household is a must.
• Curiosity and Flexibility – No one has all the answers, so a desire to grow and learn is important.
If you’re looking to work in a supportive, welcoming environment and bring your kindness and curiosity with you, please reach out. Let’s see if we’re a good fit for each other.
