Purpose of Job

Imogen is a very happy and lovely 4-year-old little girl who lives with her mum and dad and her little sister. Imogen is very playful and lovable with a great sense of humour. She loves playing shops and role models at home. Imogen loves to get out and about and likes swimming, visits to the park and the Alan Shearer centre. She can easily get fatigued at times but is happy to curl up on the sofa and watch a movie, Frozen being one of her favourites.

Imogen is verbal mainly at home but is currently learning Makaton. She has complex health needs and has a diagnosis of Polymicrogyria (a condition that affects the development of the human brain by multiple small gyri (microgyria) creating excessive folding of the brain leading to an abnormally thick cortex).

Imogen has also been diagnosed with associated conditions, namely: epilepsy, cerebral palsy and two brain tumours.  Due to Imogen’s epilepsy, it is important that the PA working with her are trained to manage her seizure activity and able to administer her emergency medication rectal paraldehyde if needed. Training will be provided

Ideally, we are seeking a PA with some experience of working with children, who are enthusiastic with a genuine interest and enjoyment in working with children.

This post is subject to a satisfactory DBs check and references which will be taken up if you are offered the post.
