Social Personal Assistant – AVGNCL Needed in Brunswick Village

Hours:​ 3 hours term time and 8 hours holiday time

Location: Brunswick Village, Newcastle upon Tyne

Rates of pay​: £15.00 per hour

Ava is a bubbly happy little 4-year-old girl who lives with her mum and her older brother. She loves flashing lights, music and her mam singing silly songs and kicking her legs. Ava loves spending time in the hydro pool and doing rebound therapy and loves going to school. She’s non-verbal and communicates by smiling to let you know she’s happy and she kicks her legs and when she does not, you’ll know, either by crying or making a different noise. Ava likes nothing better than going out and the sillier you are the more she laughs.

Ava has complex needs and has been diagnosed with SCN2A which is a rare form of epilepsy, dystonia and developmental delay. She’s also peg-fed and full personal care will be required. Ava also has an emergency medication rescue plan in place, but this only happens occasionally.

Full training will be provided

Ideally, mum is seeking a PA with some experience of working with children with disabilities, who are enthusiastic with a genuine interest, passion and enjoyment in working with children.
