Animal Lover Looking for a PA – Tadcaster!

A Little About Me!

Hi! I’m a huge animal lover and a self-confessed cat person! I’m studying to become a Clinical Animal Behaviourist, so it’s probably no surprise that animals are a big part of my life! At home, I have Bob and Theo, my cat and dog, who are very much part of the family. When I’m not studying or spending time with my animals, I enjoy getting out and about, having a wander around the shops and stopping for a coffee.

I’m looking for a friendly, reliable and easy-going Personal Assistant who can support me to get out into the community, enjoy the things I love and maintain my independence. I have a sight impairment, so the main purpose of the role is to provide practical support when I’m out and about, helping me access activities and places safely and confidently.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Supporting me to get out for coffee, shopping and other activities I enjoy.
  • Helping me access shops, services and places in the community.
  • Providing transport to activities and appointments where needed.
  • Offering practical support with my sight impairment while we’re out and about.
  • Supporting me to build confidence and maintain my independence outside the home.
  • Providing friendly companionship and encouragement while respecting my choices.

Who Am I Looking For?

Someone who is:

  • Friendly, patient, reliable and has a good sense of humour.
  • Happy to support me to do things independently rather than taking over.
  • Flexible with working hours to fit around my study commitments.
  • Comfortable around cats and dogs – Bob and Theo may want to say hello!
  • Understanding of sight impairment, or willing to learn how best to support me.
  • Confident supporting someone out and about in the community.
  • A driver with a full driving licence and access to their own car – essential.

Why This Role?

This isn’t about doing everything for me. It’s about working alongside me, helping me access the community and giving me the practical support I need to enjoy everyday activities independently. Some days might involve a shopping trip, others a coffee and a good chat. The important thing is having someone reliable who understands the value of choice, confidence and independence.

If you’re an animal lover, enjoy getting out and about and think this sounds like your kind of role, I’d love to hear from you!
