We are currently welcoming applications for Personal Assistants (PAs) to join our team, on flexible contracts to provide additional support for periods of high workload and to cover sickness.
You will be directly employed by Emma, a young professional disabled woman who works for a large environmental charity in a demanding yet rewarding role which includes travel across the UK and occasionally Europe.
The role is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, and open to anyone within 1-2 hours’ travel of the city.
What the job involves
This job involves direct work with Emma, both at and away from home. This includes but is not limited to, assisting with personal care and domestic tasks, helping to facilitate travel and work life, and supporting with exercise and volunteering events. Your role is to provide Emma with flexible support in order that she can live the life she chooses. Emma doesn’t have a routine life, nor does she want one!
This is an exciting, varied position with no experience in care required; many other skills and experiences can be valuable for this role.
The role is best suited to friendly, respectful and open-minded individuals, who are extremely reliable and have the excellent communication skills required to provide Emma with attentive yet unobtrusive assistance.
When you’re on duty you’ll be based at her home and travelling with her for work and leisure. You can sleep at night while on duty, though you may be called on if needed.
Shifts and pay
Shifts are worked in blocks of 24, 48 or 84 hours, agreed in advance to fit your schedule. Pay is £360 per 24 hours, with your 5.6 weeks’ annual leave pay included.
You’ll also get your own bedroom with wifi in a small bungalow with a garden, close to a metro station, plus downtime on duty for quiet hobbies or study, and a generous expenses allowance when travelling with Emma for work.
