Job title: Personal Assistant
Hours: 2.5 hours per week
Rates of pay: £14.50 per hour
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (Byker area)
We are looking for a kind, patient and enthusiastic Personal Assistant to support our 8-year-old son, Wahab. Wahab is a very happy, friendly and funny boy who loves talking and spending time with others. He enjoys a wide range of activities, including:
- Going to the cinema
- Swimming
- Visiting museums and libraries
- Animals
- Sports and outdoor activities
- Exploring new places and trying new experiences
The role will involve supporting Wahab to access enjoyable activities in the community, develop his confidence and independence, and learn new social and practical skills.
Wahab is currently receiving support from a nutritionist, so we would particularly welcome someone who can encourage him to take part in active, healthy and enjoyable activities in a positive and supportive way.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, patient and reliable
- Fun, energetic and enthusiastic
- Confident supporting a child in the community
- Able to encourage independence and new skills
- Interested in sports, swimming, animals or outdoor activities
- Understanding of children’s individual needs
Previous experience of supporting children would be helpful, although the right personality, attitude and ability to build a positive relationship with Wahab are equally important.
