Hours: Various weekday shifts
Contract: Permanent

Monday: 5.00pm–8.00pm
Tuesday: 9.00am–5.30pm
Thursday: 8.15am–4.45pm

Tuesday and Thursday shifts include a 30-minute unpaid break.

About me

I am a visually impaired mum living in Wallsend with my two children, my guide dog Minty and my pet dog Elara.

I am looking for a friendly, reliable and practical female Personal Assistant to join my small team and support me with everyday life.

I enjoy getting out and about, walking, shopping, coffee and cake, baking, gardening and days out. Life can be busy and occasionally chaotic, so I’m looking for someone who enjoys variety and is happy to get stuck in!

The role

As my Personal Assistant, you will provide practical and visual support to help me remain independent.

Tasks may include:

• Providing verbal guidance and describing things that I or my family cannot see
• Supporting me with shopping, errands and appointments
• Driving me to activities and days out
• Household tasks, cleaning, laundry and cooking
• Walking the dogs
• Gardening and other practical jobs
• Supporting me when out and about

You will naturally spend time around my children, so being comfortable working in a family environment is important. This is a PA role supporting me, rather than a childcare role.

I have ADHD and autism, so clear communication, patience and being adaptable are important.

About you

I am looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, reliable and approachable
• A clear communicator
• Practical and happy to use their initiative
• Comfortable around children and dogs
• Physically able to enjoy a good walk — I regularly walk around 5 km
• Confident driving
• Comfortable working in a busy household

Previous experience as a PA or working with visual impairment is not essential, as training will be provided.

Requirements

A full UK driving licence is essential.

Female applicants only – this is a Genuine Occupational Requirement.

A DBS check and references will be required.
